Emergency Dentistry
Available when you’re in need.
Dental pain and accidents can’t wait. Our team prioritises same-day emergency care to relieve pain fast, treat the cause, and protect your tooth, so you can get back to normal.
Common emergencies we treat
Severe toothache or lingering sensitivity
Broken/chipped tooth, cracked filling or fractured crown/bridge
Knocked-out tooth or tooth pushed out of position
Swelling/abscess, gum or facial infection
Lost filling/crown, sharp edges or food trapping
Wisdom tooth pain and jaw soreness
Soft-tissue injuries (lip, cheek, tongue)
Serious symptoms? If swelling affects breathing/swallowing, you have uncontrolled bleeding, facial trauma or fever with malaise, call 000 or go to hospital first.
What to do right now (quick guide)
Knocked-out adult tooth: Pick it up by the crown only, gently rinse, reinsert and bite on gauze—or keep in milk/saline. Come in immediately.
Broken tooth/filling: Keep any fragments; avoid hard/chewy foods on that side.
Swelling/abscess: Do not apply heat. Seek urgent care; infections can spread.
Bleeding after injury: Apply firm pressure with clean gauze for 10–15 minutes.
Your emergency visit includes
Focused exam and diagnosis
Digital X-ray if needed
Immediate pain relief
Stabilising treatment (e.g., temporary filling, smoothing, drainage, medication)
Clear options and costs for definitive care
After stabilising, we’ll plan any follow-up, root canal, crown, extraction or repair, and help prevent repeat issues through routine care in general dentistry.
If your child is in pain, we offer gentle, age-appropriate care, see children’s dentistry.
Where a broken front tooth affects appearance, we can discuss repairs like bonding or veneers once healthy, see cosmetic dentistry.
