5. How we handle health information
We handle your personal and health information primarily to provide the dental and related health services you request, and to comply with our legal and professional obligations. Where required, we rely on your consent, including when obtaining records from another provider or sending certain communications.
6. Disclosures to third parties
We may disclose your information, only where reasonably necessary, to:
- other health professionals involved in your care
- laboratories, imaging providers, and specialists for treatment purposes
- health funds, Medicare, and HICAPS to process claims
- service providers who support the operation of our clinic, including practice management and patient portal providers such as Centaur Portal, payment processors, appointment systems, IT support, website service providers, and communications providers
- regulators, professional bodies, or government authorities where required by law or for patient safety
7. Website, cookies and analytics

In New South Wales, health records for adults are generally retained for at least 7 years from the date of the last entry, and for minors generally until the patient turns 25 or for at least 7 years from the last entry, as applicable. We securely destroy or de-identify information when it is no longer required.
12. Access and correction
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you and request corrections if that information is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant, or misleading. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity before processing your request.
13. Children and CDBS
Where a child is eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS), we may collect relevant Medicare details and related information to process benefits with the authority of a parent or guardian.
